Day 258

Abubaker saw a boy with no shoes.  No home,
no food, no family.  He could give the boy
a little food, though nothing else; so
that’s what he did. The boy ate, sitting
in the dust.  Since he had no
fork he ate with his hands, and when
he was finished eating he gave Abubaker
the dish without cleaning it, since
there was no water.  When
was the last time you saw
your family, Abubaker asks the boy,
but the boy shakes his head,
doesn’t know the answer, can’t say
what year this is or what month.
